The museum was founded by the descendants of an old archers family — the famous restoration artist from Kostroma, P.A.Piskarev and his son, scientist, writer and local historian D.P.Piskarev.
The museum is located on the right bank of the Volga River, opposite the Ipatievsky Monastery and other attractions of the city’s historical center. From here you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the city.
