The penultimate lesson of the online gusli course was devoted to the music of the South Russian tradition. The listeners got acquainted with two new tunes – Timonya, Kursk Region, which was performed during group dancing “karagod”, and Matanya, for performing short chorus songs of lyrical content. For the wing-shaped gusli, we tried to combine different playing techniques within the framework of a single tune, which allowed us to combine different rhythmic patterns both in the playing with chords and in the play of melodies.
