We are pleased to welcome a new member of the Association of Private and People’s Museums of Russia – Lenin Museum in Yalta “Leader.Teacher. Friend”. The founder of the museum is Matviyenko Alexander Nikolayevich.
I was one of the first in my childhood and youth to become a Little Octobrist, then a Pioneer and a Komsomol member. At the age of 23 I joined the CPSU. I completed my military service in the Soviet army as a battalion commissar. The image of Lenin has always been an example of how to live a decent life for the sake of a just and bright future for all people. At first I started collecting Lenin’s badges and medals. Then I realised that I could create the world’s first art museum about Lenin.
The museum started its first temporary exhibitions in 1997. With great success, the exhibition was held in the Central Museum of Tauris in 2010. Since 2011 the Lenin Museum has been working permanently in three halls of the Yalta City Communist Party Committee. “After visiting the museum you leave inspired, rejuvenated, as if you have been back to the USSR,” visitors wrote in the visitors’ book. Everyone can find the exposition of the museum on the internet, Yandex, by typing “Lenin Museum in Yalta”.
There are more than 5000 artistic images of V. I. Lenin in the exposition of the museum in all kinds and genres of art. They are paintings, sculptures, medals, badges, souvenirs, books, poems and songs about Lenin. There was an opportunity to have the collection featured in the Guinness Book of World Records. The museum and its creator have been repeatedly awarded medals and honorary diplomas by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation for their work.
