The Museum of Amber was opened in Vladivostok in November 2018 in order to popularize amber in the Far East.
The Museum of Amber in the Far East is a unique collection of materials related to one mineral. The purpose of the museum is to systematize knowledge on the natural qualities and properties, geology, archeology, art history, and history of amber. It also presents stone samples with varying degrees of transparency, color gamut, number of inclusions, insects, and pieces of plants, which were frozen in resin more than 40 million years ago. A large number of exhibits fell into the museum from excavation sites conducted in the Kaliningrad region. Also, exhibits from different deposits of the world are presented.
