The Machine Uprising Museum company was founded in 2010 and was initially engaged in the production of static figures made of metal.
Opened more than 13 years ago in the suburbs of St. Petersburg, the forge with the creative name of the Art Forge ” The Machine Uprising” gathered under its roof original craftsmen from different parts of the city and country and united them with a common goal: to make something fantastic and original out of simple materials. The closest material for our masters was metal, as well as spare parts of obsolete mechanisms, cars, motorbikes and even scrap iron and “junk” thrown away by someone for uselessness, and the source of inspiration were recognizable characters of famous cult films and blockbusters, cartoons, and world comics. This is how our company began to master a new trend in art – recycle-art. This is the art of recycling, when old forms are given new content and turned into design and interior objects.
The result of this adventurous venture were handmade, made in metal, unique works of art, which came out from under the hands of the masters of the Art Forge “The Machine Uprising”. Our figures made of auto and motorbike parts with jewellery precision by skillful hands of welders, metal artists and airbrush painters constantly drew everyone’s attention. There were more and more exhibits, as well as those who wanted to touch the creations of masters, to see their favorite heroes not on the TV screen, but right in front of them.
Considering the market needs and numerous requests from visitors, it was conceived to open the first museum in the city of St Petersburg. Then in 2017, a museum was opened in Moscow, followed by Kazan, Sochi, and an exhibition touring the regions of Russia.
In the museum’s collection: metal exhibits assembled by craftsmen using the method of artistic welding from car junk. The corresponding images were characters known to children and adults from popular blockbusters, comic books, and cartoons. All exhibits are life-size and immersed in a unified space environment. That’s why a visit to The Machine Uprising Museum can be called a journey into a fantastic world. All exhibits can be touched, photographed, and even sit on the exhibit for a more colorful photo (if the exhibit suggests it, for example as an unusual motorbike).
