The Armenian Museum of Moscow and the Culture of Nations was opened in the Moscow temple complex of the Armenian Apostolic Church on April 22, 2015, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide. The exhibition was created in the “edutainment” format, which allows you to fully experience and study the facts of this tragedy. The museum has become a symbolic center of Armenian culture and history and a venue for socially significant and cultural events.
The museum is currently in the process of relocating. In October 2015, a virtual museum project was launched on the armmuseum.ru portal. During this time, together with the academic community, work was carried out to systematize the scattered fragments of the history of Armenian literature, music, photography, ornaments, and the history of the Armenian Diaspora in Russia. The museum’s exposition has been replenished and has acquired an objective and integral form.
The museum has a lecture hall where well-known experts speak about culture, history, and architecture. Armenian language courses are held as well as classes on the study of Armenian history and culture, held jointly with the Armenian Student Association of Moscow State University.
The museum is a member of the Board of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation on the development of the museum business.
