The history of the museum began three years ago, when the couple bought their first Baba Yaga figurines while travelling around the Golden Ring. Over time, the figures became so numerous that they could no longer fit in the house, so the Yakovlevs decided to build a separate house and open a museum in it.
Visitors will see Baba-Yaga, Devil, Koschei the Immortal, Kikimora, Vodyaniy and other heroes of folk tales and myths.
Visitors will see Baba-Yaga, Devil, Koschei the Immortal, Kikimora, Vodyaniy and other heroes of folk tales and myths. More than 300 figures of fairy tale characters are presented in the Russian hut. In addition to the exhibition in the museum you can take part in master-classes on doll making and wood painting.
We have Tatar Baba Yaga, Austrian and even Finnish, all of them differ in their color and appearance. Many works were made by masters from Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk. In our museum there are statuettes made of clay, glass, wood, and dolls made in stocking technique. In many fairy tales Baba Yaga is a negative character who wants to eat children. But we have only kind Baba Yaga!
