The Fish and Fisheries Museum is an informative and entertaining exhibition of the unique private art collection which was started in 1991 by Mikhail Kumantsov, an honorary worker of the fishing industry and a resident of Feodosia. Nowadays, the museum has more than 5,000 exhibits from 56 countries.
The museum is a fascinating project about the sea and its inhabitants, about fishermen. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the “Wave of Revolution” fishing industry in Feodosia, the traditions of its fishermen and their revival in 1944 after the devastation during the Great Patriotic War.
The museum presents a variety of exhibits that tell the story of fishing as well as images of fish and fishermen in works of art, on coins, banknotes, awards, fishing gear, clothing, and household items.
Exciting lectures, excursions, master classes, and thematic holidays are held.
